Nazim graduated with distinction from the Concordia University Bachelor of Commerce and Finance program, earning membership into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honour Society and the Golder Key Honour Society. He was the recipient of the Concordia Undergraduate Research Award Scholarship having demonstrated distinguished experience in academic research and AI, and while working during his studies at the John Dobson Investment lab and as an analyst at Clear Skies.

Adelaide Chiu

Expertise in global investment portfolios and responsible investment.

Adelaide Chiu currently serves on the boards of the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board and the Responsible Investment Association. She has over 25 years of senior portfolio management experience, managing Canadian and global investment portfolios at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS), Mackenzie Investments, and NEI Investments. She is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant and Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCPA, FCA) and holds a CFA designation.

With a Bachelor degree in Finance, a certification in Canadian Securities Course and previous experience in the Sustainability committee at her university, Saphira first joined the Clear Skies Investment team as an Impact Investment Analyst Intern. As her passion for ESG and Impact analysis keeps growing, she hopes to continue bringing her knowledge and her interest in environmental issues to the company.

Sylvain Carle

Specialist in Venture Capital in emerging technologies and entrepreneurship

Managing Partner of O13, a new pre-seed fund and development program to help climate entrepreneurs. Previously a Senior Director at SecondMuse Capital, he also served as a General Partner at Real Ventures from 2014 to 2020.

Polina Gamayunova

Director, Operations & Strategy

Holding a Master of Business Administration underscored by a Bachelor in Psychology, Canadian Securities Certification, and a Project Management background, Polina is equipped to ensure that all Clear Skies’ investment operations have impact investing at the core. Her sustainability acumen was developed in the non-for-profit sector as well as sitting on a committee responsible for verification of funds on their impact management systems.

Michel Brutti , CFA

Founder and CEO

Having 30 years of experience in the investment industry managing global portfolios of up to $10bn in public stocks and fixed income, Michel launched Clear Skies when he identified that returns don’t need to be sacrificed when investing with positive impact in mind. Up until recently, Michel Brutti was a Senior Partner and Portfolio Manager at Jarislowsky Fraser, where he served as a member of the firm’s Investment Strategy Committee and the Sustainable Investment Committee. Committed to being an expert in his domain, Michel holds a CFA Charter, a certificate from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and is a SASB FSA Credential-holder. His alma maters include an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Computer Engineering degree from the Université of Technologie de Compiègne. He is a board member of the Fonds d’Action Québecois pour le Développement Durable (FAQDD). Other active engagements include: Member of the Investment Committees of the Ottawa-based Green Municipal Fund and the Greater Montreal Climate Fund; the Investment Review Committee of the Inuit Makivik Corporation and the Investment Committee of Ecofuel, a clean tech accelerator fund. Furthermore, Michel is a member of the Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID) and the Quebec SASB group.

Amr Addas

An Adjunct Professor and Director of the Van Berkom Investment Management Program and Van Berkom Small Cap Case Competition at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. He is also the Strategic Advisor for Sustainability at JMSB and leads Concordia’s Sustainable Investing Practicum in collaboration with Manulife.

Jacques-A. Caussignac

Director, Client Experience & Strategy

With more than 23 years of experience as a financial markets professional, Jacques has a diverse background spanning multiple asset classes and sub-industries. After working as an institutional derivatives marketer at RBC, he pivoted to asset management, being responsible for over $2bn at Addenda Capital, handling Liability Driven Investments (LDI), credit and structured products. In 2008, he co-founded AlphaFixe Capital, a leader in active Fixed Income management, serving as Chief Risk Officer. In 2016, he joined TMX Group as VP, Innovation, Growth, Products and services, managing a pan-Canadian team covering Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and ESG. He also served for 4 years as an independent Director at Albecour, an aluminum smelting company owned by Investissement Québec. Jacques started his responsible investment journey as a PRI signatory in 2011. He has a Masters degree from HEC Montreal and a teaching certificate from UQAM.
